SAFIRE Project (Food Security, Training, Integration, Resilience, Employment) – Mauritania

G5-SAHEL Regional Learning Route, 2021

The SAFIRE programme was born as a solution to the many obstacles to the socio-professional integration of young people and women, and to resilience in the face of food insecurity and climate change in Mauritania.

It aims to improve economic inclusion by working on both the demand and supply sides to promote the employability of young people, the links between the market and individuals and, finally, the improvement of the territory by supporting local development.

The programme is based on an approach of consultation and participation of local actors, whose core is the model of co-construction and adaptation to local needs and realities.
