The project for the Promotion of Employment and Professional Integration in Rural Areas, PELIMIR, is an initiative financed by the German Cooperation to address the problem of youth unemployment, particularly in rural areas of Mauritania.
It covers 5 regions and is mainly based on the priorities of the government’s national employment strategy (2018-2030). These are:
Focusing national economic and sectoral policies on employment
Strengthening public employment and integration services
Targeting human capital development from a demand-side perspective
Developing the governance framework for employment
