What began as a two-person agrovet service has grown into a youth-focused agribusiness hub that trains, mentors, and connects hundreds of young agripreneurs. Linked to Jobs Open to the Youth (JOY)—implemented in Kenya by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), Procasur, the International Labour Organization (ILO), and USTADI with local partners—Inuka reframed success: not inputs sold, but young people advancing into work and enterprise.
From shopfront to hub
Targeted capacity building formalized the enterprise (contracts, compliance, governance), expanded its vision through regional and international exposure, and positioned Inuka as an ecosystem broker rather than a single outlet. Today it operates across multiple counties, serving farmers, companies, cooperatives, learning institutions, and public agencies.

What the model does
Business development services: planning, financial management, marketing, employability support.
Technical advisory: climate-smart practices, quality inputs, organic methods.
Market linkages: off-takers, e-commerce platforms, input suppliers, finance.
Mentorship and digital literacy: structured programmes and hands-on guidance for young agripreneurs.
Impact — before and after
Before (2023): seasonal revenue of 45,000 Kenyan shillings per month; two self-employed staff; services limited to one sub-county; no jobs facilitated.
After (2025): monthly revenue of 110,000 shillings (+144%); 2 core staff + a network of professionals; operations across three counties; 10+ ecosystem partners; 350+ youth reached through training and visits; 9 job placements facilitated (family, community youth, and seasonal roles).
Why it matters
Inuka shows how a youth-led advisory enterprise can create jobs beyond its payroll—by equipping young people, brokering market access, and stitching together the partners that make rural agribusiness viable. It is a practical pathway from expertise to employment and enterprise at scale.
