Ms. Basse has extensive knowledge in the processing of different locally produced grains (millet, corn, cowpea, monkey bread, bissap). She is the assistant secretary of ASC Jamm Bugum and a member of the women’s promotion group Jamm Bugum.
She has increased her income and ensured food security through grain processing.
Ms. Basse speaks Serer, Wolof and French. She has succeeded in transforming whole millet into a main course instead of rice. Her association has increased its membership and offers financial and non-financial services to its members. Ms. Basse has offered courses and practical demonstrations of her knowledge to other farmers.
Because of her good practices, Ms. Basse was identified and selected to participate as a local champion in the Learning Route: “Innovative mechanisms and tools to promote the structuring of inclusive agricultural value chains: experiences from Senegal”. This Learning Route was conducted by PROCASUR between November 23 and December 2, 2016, in Senegal, Africa
CEREAL PROCESSING:
Processing of different cereals, especially millet.
