Ms. Ndiaye is a farmer who combines her agricultural activities (mainly vegetable growing) with trade and local organization. She is the president of the Departmental Union of Women’s Cooperatives in Maghama.
This organization allows women to develop income-generating activities and thus improve their quality of life. In the course of her activities, Ms. Ndiaye has seen how women have become more active and present in the productive activities of the area where they live.
Ms. Ndiaye speaks Pulaar, French and Hassanya. She has experience as a rural animator, having participated in various training forums. She has knowledge of computers and office automation.
Due to her good practices, Ms. Ndiaye was identified and selected to participate as a rural champion in the Learning Route: “Securing land and water rights in irrigation systems through innovative tools and practical solutions: the cases of Senegal and Mauritania”. This Learning Route is organized by PROCASUR and the Initiative Prospective Agricole et Rurale (IPAR). It will take place from March 6 to 16, 2017 in different regions of Mauritania and Senegal, in Africa

I have diversified my production. I produce several varieties of vegetables, which I sell in local fairs and markets.
At the organizational level, our organization (the Departmental Union of Women’s Cooperatives of Maghama) has gone from having 60 members to having 140. We have obtained funding from the GRDR, as well as from other savings and credit cooperatives. In addition, we offer non-financial services to our members (distribution of agricultural materials and seeds).
