The goal of the Adaptation Learning Programme is to increase the capacity of vulnerable households in sub-Saharan Africa to adapt to climate change and variability.
The Adaptation Learning Programme deals with localizing weather information to local conditions. The specificity of the programme is the combination of scientific climate information and indigenous traditional knowledge. Those are shared and analyzed during the Participatory Scenario Planning (PSP) workshops: an innovative multi stakeholder approach in which scientists, local communities and government staff are actively involved. The intervention seeks to implement an inclusive decision making process to allow farmers to make informed decisions with regards to their activities.
