Ms. Diop is a farmer who combines her agricultural activities with trade and local organization. She is the president of the Association for the Development of the Women of Yélar and Surroundings. The association of which she is the president has increased its membership, offers training in financial management to members, and has submitted applications to financial institutions.
She speaks Wolof and French, and has experience as a literacy trainer, as well as intra-domiciliary spraying.
DEVELOPMENT OF WOMEN’S ORGANIZATIONS:
Articulate domestic activities (cooking) with commercial activities and local organization specifically oriented to women.
Successfully manage a local organization, diversifying its projects and increasing the number of members.
I have managed to complement my agricultural activities (mainly onion harvesting) with the purchase and sale of products in order to provide for the family needs.
I developed sensitivity and skills related to social and community organizing for and by women. We have been able to set up new projects lately, which contribute to the improvement of the quality of life of the women of Yélar and surroundings.
MY EXPERIENCE AS A TALENT:
I have provided intra-domiciliary spraying training to 15 people in the form of a workshop and hands-on demonstration.
